VIVAnews - Daihatsu kembali mengejutkan pasar otomotif Indonesia dengan meluncurkan inovasi terbaru mereka, sebuah mobil dengan konsep baru bernama A-Concept.

Mobil ini langsung diperkenalkan Sudirman MR, Presiden Direktur PT Astra Daihatsu Motor, dan Koichi Ina, Presiden Daihatsu Motor Company (DMC), di arena International Indonesia Motor Show (IIMS), JI Expo, Kemayoran, Jumat, 22 Juli 2011.

A-Concept merupakan hasil karya putra-putri Indonesia dengan dukungan langsung teknologi dari Jepang. Sedangkan penggunakan huruf A pada mobil itu merupakan tanda awal dari dimulainya kehidupan baru masyarakat Indonesia.

"Ke depan, trennya mobil murah untuk keluarga dan ramah lingkungan. Jadi kami sudah siapkan konsepnya dulu. Kemungkinan baru bisa diproduksi massal dalam waktu 2-3 tahun lagi," kata Sudirman.

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Mobil murah asal India, Tata Nano, dipastikan akan masuk ke pasar Indonesia pada tahun ini.

"Mobil ini akan diperkenalkan untuk pertama kalinya di Indonesia dalam pameran otomotif tahun ini," Duta Besar India untuk Indonesia, Biren Nanda, di Jakarta, Kamis.

Mobil tersebut, lanjut Biren, dijual di negeri asalnya India dengan harga setara Rp25-30 juta. "Namun saya tidak tahu pasti berapa harga mobil itu di Indonesia," tambah Biren.

JANUARY 2012: 2013 Ford Focus ST

The new Focus is at last debuting in the U.S., with a 2.0-liter, direct-injected, 160-hp motor and variable valve timing, as well as a five-speed manual. But, the car to wait for is the 2013 Focus ST, which debuts in early 2012. It gets a six-speed manual with the same EcoBoost (turbocharged) 2.0-liter as the much larger Edge and Explorer and will be good for somewhere in the neighborhood of 250 hp, which puts it in league with hot hatches like the MazdaSpeed3 and beyond the output of the VW GTI. Ford is also promising a tauter suspension and meatier tires as well as bigger brakes to go with all that horsepower. Expect to pay at least $25,000.

This list of the 30 best-selling cars in Canada in May 2012 includes three subcompacts (all of which are roomy like a compact), four pickup trucks, one minivan, five midsize cars, nine so-called compacts (some of which are roomy like midsizers), and eight SUVs and crossovers.

The Ford F-Series and its 19 closest followers accounted for 47.1% of the market. That's down from 47.5% a month ago. The second-ranked Ram pickup is now 2343 sales ahead of the Honda Civic in the race to be the second-best-selling vehicle in Canada. There is no chance any vehicle other than the Ford F-Series will end 2012 as the best-selling vehicle overall, just as there was no chance in 2011.

Just missing out on this month's top 30 were the Nissan Versa, Ford Taurus, Hyundai Sonata, Nissan Rogue, Hyundai Tucson, and Mazda CX-5. The second-ranked minivan was the Toyota Sienna, 1296 of which found buyers in May. For every Sienna sold so far this year, nearly five Dodge Grand Caravans have been sold.

Half of the vehicles on this top 30 best sellers list wear the badges of domestic U.S. brands. (May sales results had 16 domestics in the U.S. top 30.) But while those same domestics, including the Fiat 500, took 46% of the Canadian new vehicle market in May, the same brands accounted for 45.8% of the U.S. market during the same period. Yes, Canadians support Detroit with slightly greater fervour.
